What to Expect

After You Book Your Consultation

Once your consultation is confirmed, your counselor will send you access to your secure client portal. Inside, you’ll find:

Intake and background forms
Payment authorization
Practice policies and consent documents
Tools to schedule or cancel future sessions

Booking, Rescheduling, and Cancellations

You’ll be able to book, reschedule, or cancel your sessions directly through your portal. For changes made less than 24 hours in advance, we recommend contacting your counselor directly so they can assist.

Sessions require 24-hour notice for cancellation to avoid being charged.

After the Consultation

After your initial consultation, if you choose to continue, your counselor will guide you in setting up ongoing therapy sessions. We offer support for individuals, couples, families, and groups across all life stages.

Together, we’ll co-create a plan that fits your goals, schedule, and preferred therapeutic approach.

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I do in a crisis or emergency?

If you are in immediate danger or experiencing a mental health crisis, do not wait for a session. Please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room. You can also contact a 24/7 crisis hotline such as the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline at 988.

What is your booking, rescheduling, and cancelation policy?

You can book, reschedule, or cancel sessions directly through your client portal. However, it’s often best to coordinate rescheduling directly with your counselor to ensure the best availability. Please make all changes with at least 24 hours’ notice—appointments canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice are subject to the full session fee.

What if I’m running late or need to adjust my session time?

Please contact your counselor directly if you're running late or need to request a time change. They will do their best to accommodate you, but your session may still end at the originally scheduled time depending on availability.

How do I communicate with my counselor between sessions?

For non-urgent matters like scheduling or updates, you may reach out via email, text, or call. Please allow up to 24 hours for a response. Text and email are not secure for sensitive or clinical information and should not be used for emergencies.

Will my information be kept confidential?

Absolutely. We are HIPAA-compliant and prioritize your confidentiality at all times. All client records are stored securely, and your personal information will never be shared or sold.

Do you offer virtual sessions?

Yes, we offer secure, HIPAA-compliant virtual sessions using encrypted video platforms. Virtual therapy is available for clients residing in New Jersey and can be a convenient alternative to in-person care when needed.

Who can receive services through your practice?

We provide therapy for clients of all ages through individual, couple, group, and family sessions. Our services are currently limited to New Jersey residents.

What is your policy on minors in therapy?

For clients under 18, we work with both the adolescent and their parent/guardian to establish what information will be shared. While we protect the child’s confidentiality, we also maintain open, developmentally appropriate communication with caregivers.

What is your termination policy?

Therapy can end at any time through mutual agreement or by client request. If therapy is not being effectively used or payment obligations are unmet, your therapist may initiate a termination process. If appropriate, referrals to other professionals will be provided.
